1975 game used jersey Terry Forster Chicago White Sox L. Offered for sale is a 1975 game used home red pinstripe jersey of the Chicago White Sox pitcher Terry Forster. Made by Wilson and properly tagged, this beautiful game jersey is all original. The zipper is fully functional but the pull tab is missing. It is tagged 1975 Set 1 and shows excellent use. Forster is properly chain stitched in the collar. Terry Forster started his career with the White Sox along future Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Rich Goose Gossage; both were hard throwing young hurlers who worked their way up through the White Sox minor league system in the early 1970s. Terry played 16 years in the major leagues for five teams (Chicago White Sox, Pittsburg Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and California Angels) and recorded 127 saves. Terry was a lifetime. 397 batter who made 10 hits in 19 at bats for the 1972 White Sox! 397 lifetime batting average (31 hits in 78 at bats) is the highest for any major leaguer in history with either 50 at bats or with at least 15 years of major league experience. He led the American League in saves in 1974 with 24. Terry was a member of the 1981 World Champion Dodgers. Unfortunately for Terry he became a household name when he was the target of talk show Host David Lettermans jokes. The 6’3 Forster reportedly weighed 270 pounds while with Atlanta. Letterman gave the left-hander national notoriety in 1985, when he referred to the lefty as a “fat tub of goo” on his Late Night show. Forster later appeared as a guest on Letterman’s show following the comments; he ate a sandwich as he entered the set after Letterman introduced him.
