This jersey was possibly intended for use during 1983 season because it has 100th anniversary centennial Phillies patch sewn on the right sleeve and this was year they wore that patch on their jerseys in the 1983 season even though jersey is tagged for the 84 season. From what I understand the Phillies did possibly issue out the 84 jerseys to the players in the 83 season with the 83 patch sewn on sleeve for them to wear in playoffs because their 83 jerseys were so beat up from the regular season wear and tear that the organization wanted them to have new jerseys for the post season but it’s not 100% for sure that they did this or not. The jersey is all original and unaltered and shows light game use has the correct proper tagging on the jersey and it’s tagged 84 set 2 has his name “Carlton” sewn on inside the collar of the jersey. It is also autographed by Carlton on the back of the jersey on the #2 in sliver paint pen marker. The name “Carlton” is sewn on nameplate on the back jersey arched at the top along with the #32 sewn on back of jersey. This jersey is absolutely gorgeous!! The jersey also comes with 80’s style game worn Steve Carlton spring training BP cap shows very nice use dirt and sweat stains also has #32 written under brim of the cap in black marker.
