Used as a give away by team owner Bill Bartholomew to friends. This jersey originated from the collection of Atlanta Braves 400 club founder and President, Joe Gerson. Joe received several of these Hank Aaron jerseys as well as many other players directly from the Braves and had them for many years. Original Sand Knit size 40 tag and Atlanta Braves exclusive tag remain in the collar. Also is an original blank tag with Aaron Set 2 71 sewn over. This was done by the team. Fire and smoke stains remain on the jersey from a fire at the dry cleaners are very typical on several sets of Braves jerseys from 1972. Sand Knit had many issues with their first year knit jerseys shrinking from washing with the Braves using many sets of jerseys from Sand Knit.
