In 1961, Carl Yastrzemski finally arrived in the major leagues as the heir apparent to the legendary Ted Williams in left field. For 23 years, Yastrzemski proudly wore his famous 8 for the Red Sox, with an extraordinary batting style and his unmatched skill in patrolling the ground in front of the Green Monster. In the Red Sox 1967 Impossible Dream season, he won the American League Triple Crown and was named the ALs Most Valuable Player. A seven time gold glove winner, Yaz earned the honor of 18 All-Star game appearances, and is generally considered one of the finest left fielders of all time. Presented here is a 1976 Boston Red Sox home game used and autographed jersey. On the left front is the wash instructions label and next to it is the 1976 year tag. In the collar is the McAuliffe manufacturers label and below that is the size 42 label. Player number 8 is on the back of the jersey in red on blue tackle twill. Across the front of the jersey is the team name RED SOX in red and blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Massachusetts Bicentennial patch. The jersey is autographed on the front in blue marker and added HOF 89 and rates a 9. The jersey is from pre-July as after that they wore a black Tom Yawkey arm band. The Jersey shows good game use in appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by LOAs from James Spence authentication and gray flannel auctions.
