NEW YORK YANKEES 1955 ED LOPAT GAME WORN JERSEY. 1955 Ed Lopat Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey. A member of five World Championship teams (1949-53), southpaw Lopat was engaged in the final season of his career when he took this pinstriped flannel to the mound in the Bronx. Classic “NY” logo over heart appears to be original to the garment, but the number “62” cannot be, as that number first adorned a Yankees shirt in 1983. We suspect the jersey saw secondary farm club usage, as was typical of the period. Interior collar is tagged, “Spalding [size] 44, ” while lower left front tail is embroidered, Lopat 55-30. ” Interior tail holds washing instructions tag with number “2 written atop in marker. Strong game wear with no major visual concerns to report. LOA from Heritage Auctions. The item “1955 YANKEES ED LOPAT GAME WORN JERSEY” is in sale since Thursday, April 5, 2018.
