This is for an original 1940s or 1950s Brown University baseball wool jersey. The jersey carries the Tim McAuliffe Inc. Quality Equipment tag in the collar and has both Brown on the front, and the number 7 sewn on the back in what I believe to be brown felt, and has airholes under the armpits. Even though the jersey has a 44 as a size flag tag, I believe it to be a tad smaller than a 44 is today. The jersey is a bit stiff from being so old. I cant pinpoint an exact year for the jersey, but Ebbetts Field Flannels sells reproductions of a 1949 Brown University Road jersey for 199.00 which look almost exactly like this one except for possibly the font of the number, so how much would you pay for the real deal?
