I can’t believe the day was really here, Saturday night September 29 we said farewell. I have had this jersey and pair of pants in my possession since the end of David’s rookie year, 2004. The set comes with every authenticity marker you could possibly want- David’s photo holding the items, David signing the items, David’s company cert and Locker Room Memorabilia cert on the jersey- it’s all there. I even captured a photo from a famous game in San Fran on August 21 where he appears to be wearing this exact Jersey. This game was David’s first 4 hit game ever. The Mets alternated black and gray for their road uniforms in 2004. The Tug McGraw memorial patch is there because he died before the season started, on January 5 2004. Murph The Happy Recap!! passed on August 3 2004. David’s MLB debut was July 21 2004, so it all makes sense that Wright wore this road jersey sometime after August 3, between then and the end of the year. All tags and markings are shown. The pants are HOME pants not associated with the road jersey and really are an extra bonus- I do not know when they were worn other than in his rookie year as certified by his own inscription, the LOA, and the 04′ tag sewn into the waist of the pants. Both items have great game used dirt on them- moreso the Jersey. Who knew it would end like this? There are FAR fewer Wright jerseys on the market than anyone ever expected due to his multiple serious injuries and time missed.
