For your consideration is a beautiful game worn Andy Pettitte Houston Astros jersey, which dates to the 2006 season. I went to high school with Andy Pettitte and have amassed a nice sized collection of his cards and memorabilia over the past 20 years, but it’s finally time to thin things out a bit. This is the last Pettitte jersey I have, and also still have a large card collection. This is the coveted “brick red” alternate jersey style, which is arguably the nicest style worn by the Astros to date. Below the tag is the “Size 50″ flag, which is the correct size for a Pettitte jersey… Please note that Majestic did NOT sell retail jerseys in a size 50 at the time! In addition, the inside tag gives a “0062” production code, which was used for team-ordered jerseys only (retail jerseys would have a “6200” code instead). The measurements are approx. 26-1/2 inches across from pit to pit, and tapers to approx. 23-1/2 inches across at the stomach. The length is approx. 32 inches from shoulder to bottom. In my opinion this jersey has been laundered once, as some of the red has washed onto the tail tag, and light wear is present on the inner tag as well. Otherwise the jersey is very crisp with no fading, and all patches, letters and numbers are still firm and unwrinkled. All graphics are sewn onto the shirt, with the highest of quality patches and tackle twill. I’m not sure if Pettitte wore this jersey on the mound, or just in the dugout whilst sucking on sunflower seeds. I have priced the jersey accordingly because of the very light use present.
