Offered is a Seattle Mariners “turn back the clock” home uniform which was donned by three time AL MVP shortstop for the club’s July 19, 1997 contest against the Kansas City Royals. This is the only game that this uniform was used, so you will not find another Alex Rodriguez item like this. The home Mariners would fall by a score of 9-6 though A Rod did his part by going 2 for 5 with a home run (the 55th of his career) and 3 RBI. The Seattle Mariners celebrated their 20th anniversary of existence in 1997 and gave there fans a playoff appearance as a gift. Of course special promotions were part of the big celebration as well. One game the current crop of talent donned throwback jerseys which mirrored the first ones worn by the Mariners. This game worn and unwashed jersey, pants and cap was worn by A-Rod during a throwback contest in’07. The jersey shows decent use with soil marks throughout. A stain is visible below the front “3” on the jersey. All of the identifiers are manufactured in two-color tackle twill. Blue/yellow/blue material surrounds the V-neck and both sleeve ends. “RODRIGUEZ” is expressed across the verso in single-color royal blue tackle twill. Dirt staining is visible on the right shoulder. Secured in the inner gusset is a size tag and fabric content label as well. Part two of this interesting ensemble are the pants worn by A-Rod as well. An Ebbets Field Flannels tag is sewn in the waistline as is a size “36” tag and fabric label. Dirt stains appear on the backside and front knee region. The final piece of the puzzle is a game worn A-Rod Roman size “7 1/4″ cap. Decent headband wear is exhibited on the cap as well. A-Rod signed the jersey, pants and cap in black felt tip. He inscribed “Game Used” on the hat as well. Each item is authenticated with a signed Rodriguez letter. Heavy use shown to all three uniform elements with dirt staining on the jersey and pants. COAs from Mill Creek Sports (each signed by Alex Rodriguez), Mears, and JSA will also attend to verify the authenticity of the uniform and signatures.
