We believe this to be a circa 1962-63 Chicago White Sox Game Used Road Flannel Jersey worn by Tony Cuccinello (#33)….. Cuccinello had a successful 15-year career in the Majors from 1930-45……. He went on to become the 3rd Base Coach for the Chicago White Sox and wore #33 from 1957-66……. The outline of the original #33 is evident on the back and right sleeve (beneath the current #2 that is there)…….. We believe the name’CHICAGO’ across the front is all original, it’s just the numerals have been replaced to make it display as a #2 Nellie Fox Jersey (which it is not)……… Inside the jersey there is a white pouch that is sewn a tobacco pouch? MacGregor size 44 tag sewn in neck…….. Great item & nice display piece! ……..
