Authentic Tim McAuliffe 1950’s game worn MLB New York Giants satin warm up jacket. Size 42 from player Sal Maglie “The Barber” of the World Series winning New York Giants team. Includes a letter stating this custom embroidered jacket was a gift from Sal himself. In like new condition. Inside the exterior left pocket, the size tag is present, and clearly displays the number 42. The right exterior pocket contains the Tim McAuliffe Inc tagging. The full text of the maker tag reads, Tim McAuliffe Inc, Quality Athletic Equipment, 24 Lincoln St, Boston Mass. 23 armpit to armpit chest width. 34 sleeve length from center back to cuff. Between 1950 and 1956 Maglie was among the most feared hurlers in baseball. His high hard one came in so close to batters’ heads that it seemed to shave their chins, gaining him the memorable nickname Sal the Barber. Jersey is in good condition for its age. Wool jersey with front buttons. Shows signs of use and stitching repairs on front and back. Has a few small holes on both sides as shown. Jock tag shows “Tim McAuliffe” as well as “58” indicating 1958 as the year worn, and the size “44”. Number “43” was not worn by any player in 1958 but could have been worn by a coach, bat boy, etc. See pics for full description. Comes from a smoke free & pet free home. 1968 Boston Red Sox #57 Game Worn Jersey. Most likely this flannel jersey was worn by an aspiring training hopeful who never quite realized his big league dreams. We checked the records and nobody on the 1968 Red Sox roster wore #57 Solid wear is shown on this offering. “Red Sox” is displayed on front while the 57 digits are showcased on the reverse. Each of the identifiers is two-tone red-on-blue felt. Condition of the back print is not very good and overall I would rate this item at a 6/10 condition. Three labels are sewn into the tail: “Tim McAuliffe, ” “’68” (year) and [size] 44. 1967 Bobby Knoop, California Angles, Game Worn Tim McAuliffe, Size 44 Flannel Jersey. “Tim McAuliffe,’67, 44, “Knoop tags are sewn on to bottom front left side. Excellent condition with visible game use. A small black stain below the “S” in Angels across the front. There has been a number change on the back. Knoop wore #29 and the “2” appears to be original but the “9” was replaced by “8”. “#28″ was worn by Vic Davalillo in 1967 -69, and Randy Brown wore #28 in 1969-70. Knoop was a 3x Gold Glove Winner 1966-68 and a All-Star in 1966. Very nice vintage Angels jersey. Who manufactured the Sox jerseys of the period. Measures 32″ tall by 31″ wide. Signs of game use with some foxing. Just a great classic Red Sox jersey. No changes or alterations of any kind. Good and even wear throughout. More puckering of tackle twill shows on number 2 versus the number 8 due to the fact that the 8 was glued down for number placement when sewn. Then the number 2 could be visually placed and sewn. More puckering occurred when washed. It appears that Billy Williams wore B. WILLIAMS” on his jersey at the first of the year and in the same season also just wore “WILLIAMS. It was originally worn by one of the members of the 1978 Oakland A’s team – I believe it was Pete Broberg based on the outlines of a name and number on the back which have been removed. The jersey was converted to a Jim Catfish Hunter 1972 jersey by Lon Lewis, who removed the original name, logo and number, and added new name, numbers and logo.
