Having apparently been reissued by the White Sox the following season or subsequent spring training(s), the jersey has undergone a number change and name removal. Morales’ name and number have been professionally restored on back in blue-on-white nylon twill, along with the smaller front number. The 1969 Centennial patch on the left sleeve, while also appearing to be restored, is an authentic, game worn specimen from the 1969 season in which professional baseball celebrated its 100th anniversary. Aside from the mentioned areas of restoration, this attractive, well-preserved flannel appears to remain originally as issued in 1969. The Sox wore this style road jersey for only 1969 and 1970 and it is one of the few in baseball history to have both the city AND team name printed on the front. The elements original to the jersey are all still firmly anchored to the blue-gray flannel body by the original stitching. This offered jersey remains in attractive, well-preserved condition with the flannel body remaining soft and supple with a remarkable degree of fullness to the material.
