Eric Bullock was the starting left fielder for the Astros for the first six games of their storied 1986 NL West Championship run. Unfortunately for Bullock his bat went silent, and left field would primarily be manned by Jose Cruz and Billy Hatcher for the rest of the season. On the bright side, he did have a great view of some amazing games as he watched the action from the dugout. For your consideration is a beautiful cream jersey worn by Bullock during the 1986 Astros season. It is correctly tagged by Goodman & Sons and features the original 25th Season commemorative patch on the left sleeve. It shows overall light to moderate use, having probably been washed several times throughout the season. There are no rips, holes or tears and all colors remain deep and vibrant. The “Astros” team name, the star graphic and the “9” number are sewn in two-layer tackle twill. “BULLOCK” features letters sewn individually on to the reverse nameplate. Eric has signed the front of the jersey with a black Sharpie. These original’86 jerseys don’t surface in the hobby very often, and are highly collected. Often when they do, they tend to have brown spotting throughout because of long term storage in the humid Astrodome. Thankfully the only hint of spotting here is found along the seam across the very bottom of the shirt. The body of the shirt itself is quite nice with a tiny mark here and there from player wear.
