1972 Atlanta Braves game worn used home coaches/manager jersey of Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews. All original as issued by Sand Knit. Outstanding condition with typical staining from a fire at the dry cleaners late in 1972. First year of style of knits used by the Braves. Several sets of home and road jerseys had to be made in 1972 due to the new knit material shrinking in the automatic dryers. This jersey retained bright colors as many faded from extended minor league use. Name in collar has a loose edge of stitching but remains intact. Eddie Mathews started out in 1972 as a Braves coach and was named manager on August 7, 1972. His number 41 has been retired by the Braves. This Hall of Fame jersey would display well.
