1969 Philadelphia Phillies Jersey 100th Year MLB Patch on Sleeve
The item for sale is a 1969 Philadelphia Phillies jersey. The jersey has the #40 on the reverse and the Phillies name on the front. The Wilson size 44 tag is in the collar and the Major League Baseball 100th Year Anniversary patch is on the left sleeve. One button is missing from the jersey. Outfielder Scott Reid wore #40 for the Phillies in 1969. As he was called up from the Triple A affiliate Eugene Emeralds of the Pacific Coast League on September 10th. This may well explain why this jersey does not have the typical left tail labeling of game used jerseys of the Phillies in 1969 since he was not a roster player for most of the year. The jersey shows game use but cannot be definitely attributed to Reid. The jersey looks to be all original and as stated above does not have the usual labeling on the left tail with the set # and the name in the collar. It is possible that this may have been a 1969 minor league, spring training, or salesman sample jersey but it was presented to me as a 1969 gamer.
