1975 Game Used Worn Chet Lemon Chicago White Sox Rookie Road Jersey from this 3 X All Star White Sox, Detroit Tigers stand out Center-fielder. The jersey is all original with no alterations and was never sent down or modified for minor league use. On Opening Day 1975 OF Jerry Hairston was assigned number 2 and this jersey was originally issued to him. Buddy Bradford was issued 22. When Bradford was traded to the Cardinals on June 30, 1975, Hairston switched jersey numbers to Bradford’s number 22. See snap shot from Jack Looney’s Now Batting, Number… Lemon joined the White Sox and had his Major League Debut September 9, 1975 and was issued Hairston’s old Number 2 jersey. As most collector’s of 70’s vintage jerseys will know, no team would issue a new jersey to a September call up, especially not to one who was not in the organization until June 1975 when Lemon was traded to the Sox from the Oakland A’s organization. Simply a phenomenal and rare gamer from a 1970’s-80’s star player. Please see my other auctions for a 1971 Game Worn Mike Andrews White Sox Cap and a 1975 Brian Downing Baseaball Card Contract.
