1984 TEXAS RANGERS GAME USED / GAME WORN BLUE ALTERNATE JERSEY WORN BY COACH WAYNE TERWILLIGER #42 SHOWS GREAT GAME USE; A FANTASTIC EYE-CATCHING VINTAGE JERSEY! He then had an incredible coaching career for nearly 50 years at both the Minor League and Major League level. From 1981 through 1985, he was a coach for the Texas Rangers, where he wore this jersey on field. He would later coach the Minnesota Twins, which brought him 2 World Series Championships (1987 and 1991). This jersey is a beautiful royal blue button-down double-knit jersey with red and white neckline trim and red, white and blue thick sleeve trim. The Rangers script team logo is sewn across the center of the chest in red and white twill material; the #42 is featured below the team logo sewn on in the same material. The embroidered Rangers patch featuring the outline of the state of Texas is sewn onto the left sleeve. The back of the jersey features a large number 42 sewn in the center in red and white twill. Above the name is the name “TERWILLIGER” in white twill sewn onto a blue nameplate that is affixed to the jersey. The jersey shows moderate use, as it would have been worn and laundered for the better part of the season. Letters and numbers show signs of puckering, loose threads; tagging shows wear; sleeves of the jersey show light sun fade. It is nearly 40 years old and has been kept in great shape over the years. Additionally, #42 is a retired number throughout all of baseball. A fantastic rare find, as 1980s jerseys are becoming rarer within the game used hobby.
