VINTAGE Authentic Minnesota TWINS Prototype Jersey 1972 Game Worn ExCond Unusual
Vintage Authentic 1972 Twins Prototype road jersey. This is a rare bird. A very similar one but not identical one is pictured on page 2564 of my Game Worn Guide to MLB Jerseys, 7. That one is standard knit, mine is warp knit, a slightly different fabric type. Page is included in the photos below. This is a Wilson-made prototype for the teams 1972 Road jersey, most likely made for management-consideration after the 1971 season when the team was changing from flannel to polyester jerseys. The unusual script on the front is identical to a version of the script considered previously in 1961, when the team first moved to Minnesota. It was not adopted either in 1961 or in 1972. It features a fabric Wilson sample data tag, sewn inside the back collar, one found on Wilson-made prototype jerseys. It is shown in the photos, and contains style codes that. Model #A4576 Stretch Warp knit. Jersey, 100% Polyester, 4. Tackle Twill lettering on front in. All sewn on two-color red/navy lettering on front, nothing on back. It has the player-spec white cotton lining around the collar and inside the placket. It has clearly been worn and washed, but is in very good/excellent original condition, with no staining or sun-fading. Have been putting it off for several years, but it is time to thin the herd. Ill describe them accurately and the pictures are of the actual items. Look at my other auctions, too.
