This is a set of a 1984 San Diego Padres Prototype uniform created by Sand Knit (The makers of the 1976 Jersey). This set was presented as a potential uniform to be used in the 1984, the year the Padres went to their first World Series. This contemporary-style with the friar, never took the field and has never before been exhibited. This set was part of a 6 set uniform, one of which was displayed at 2016 All Star Fanfest and now in Cooperstown See last photo for reference. This style lost out to a design, a different Padres wordmark, and without the new friar. Back then, after a decision was made, the team or design firm would throw away the samples. In this case, this set was rescued to hold historical value. This set is by far one of the most historical sets in Padres history and this is your one opportunity to own it!
